Gottfried Salzmann

Gottfried SALZMANN was born in Salzburg in 1943. From 1963 to 1965 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna at Prof. Maximilian Melcher. Subsequently he completed a study at the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris. Salzmann has already arranged a lot of exhibitions and is still planning further shows. He was awarded many art prizes. High prestigious museums possess a collection of his work. Also his wife, Nicole Bottet is artistically active. The artist lives in Paris and South France. Gottfried Salzmanns central motifs are landscapes, city views, roofs, Church vaults and Skylines. The main techniques are the etching, the lithograph and the watercolor. He intensively worked with printmaking where he experimented widely and developed a new technique called Photeauforte. Salzmann prefers perspective gadgetry and alienation effects. He is one of the most famous Austrian contemporary artists.
